The 5th annual Archer Film Festival will take place on Wednesday April 27th, 2016.
The Archer Film Festival is a high school student film festival dedicated to empowering female filmmakers. Our goal is not to exclude men, but rather to include women. As a result, the festival is open to all high school student filmmakers.
Our first annual festival in 2012 featured keynote speaker Hunger Games producer, Nina Jacobson, and 20 student films representing a dozen schools from all over California. The 2013 festival, May 10-11, featured keynote speaker Vanessa Morrison, President of Fox Studios Animation, and 18 films from over 150 submissions. The festival concluded at the Archer School for Girls on May 11 with a series of moderated industry panels. The 2014 Archer Film Festival included keynote speaker “Legally Blonde” novelist Amanda Brown, and the 2015 keynote was writer Melissa Rosenberg.
A series of moderated panels with industry professionals were followed on Thursday, May 1st at The Archer School for Girls. Topics included: Women in the Industry, Breaking into the Business & The Future of Television. Participants included Head of Independent Film Group UTA Rena Ronson, Producer and President of Production at Relativity Media, Robbie Brenner and Film Producer and Nominee for Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film Kristine Belson.
We would like to thank our sponsors: Premiere Digital, Westfield Century City & Relativity School.
