Film Submissions Guidelines

In 2013, women comprised only 16% of all directors, producers, writers, cinematographers, and editors working on the top 250 domestic grossing films. Thus, we are seeking original female voices that convey a unique point of view as well as an acute attention to craft and character. We accept submissions from coeducational schools in the United States and girls’ schools internationally. Our goal is not to exclude men, but to include women.

Early Deadline for Submission: January 31st, 2016

Final Deadline for Submission: March 4th, 2016

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The films must be created by high school students (9th – 12th). We will also accept films made during the previous school year (2014-2015) by recent high school graduates who meet the criteria. Films must be 1-10 minutes in length. The 2016 Entry Form must be signed by the filmmaker and a parent/guardian if the filmmaker is under 18 years old. If the film is not submitted in English, please provide subtitles. Please refer to the Entry Form for additional terms and conditions.
